Hobbyking Sydney Fly-In

29th and 30th November, 2014

Following the success of last years event, PEMAC has again been asked to host the Hobbyking Sydney Fly-In which will be held on the weekend of the 29th and 30th November, 2014.

The event has been approved by CASA this year as being open to the general public and as such promises to be bigger and better spanning the entire weekend.

Food and refreshments will be available and there will be lots of goodies given away.  It will also be a great opportunity to catch up with the HK team and see the latest new releases from HK and Durafly and this year HK will be bringing stock with them to sell, so its a perfect chance to get your hands on some gear without having to pay any postage costs :)

Entry to the venue is free (parking is a gold coin donation to the Lions Club) and all profits from the model auction and raffles will be dontated to local charities.  This is very much a community based event and PEMAC and HK are very pleased to be able to support other very worthwhile community groups.

Those wishing to fly at the event are advised of some changes to last years program.  Due to insurance requirements only suitably qualified persons will be prmitted to fly models at the event and must have their current memebrship card with them during registration.    However on Sunday there may be an opportunity for some members of the public to try some "Bixler buddy flying" :)

Members of the MAAA wishing to fly are advised that your MAAA insurance will now not cover you for this event, however the Australian Miniature Aerosport Society is offering day membership of the society to any participating MAAA members at a cost of only $5.00.  Members of the AMAS and the MSAA will be covered by their respective membership insurances.

We had almost 90 pilots turn up to the event last year which presented a constant full sky and a bit of a wait for air time, so this year pilots wishing to fly are advised that the flying will be broken into two groups over the weekend.

Saturday 29th - Everything fast and hi-tech
Ducted fans, quads and multis, heli's and 3 d flying

Sunday 30th - More relaxed pace
Trainer type models, scale and warbirds, gliders etc

All intending participating pilots are advised to read our club rules on this website prior to the event and will be expected to comply with same during the event.  A pilot safety briefing will be conducted each morning at 8.30am before the flying commences at 9am.  Pilots arriving after the briefing will be required to be briefed individually prior to flying.

PEMAC is an electric only club and only electric powered models are permitted to be flown.

All models must also be under 80dBa in order to fly (this is an environmental requirement given our clubs proximity to homes).   We do have a sound meter and can test models before they are flown.

ANY manufacturers models can be flown during the event  :)
